As a Graphic Designer for the BBC, he has held both lead and team responsibilities for English and Welsh language output, communicating information on a wide range of subjects, to a large and varied audience, often under pressure.
- In the simplest form, he supplied sports results, tables, maps and statements while live on air, taking instructions both verbally and in written form
- The more complex required additional research in order to produce animated diagrams illustrating for example; the in-flight refuelling of aircraft, how nuclear reactors work and the latest techniques in heart bypass surgery
Animations always require a detailed understanding of physical form, texture, and structure, as well as how they function, in order to illustrate the processes being highlighted. In newsroom environments, they are frequently undertaken within deadlines of one to two hours. The elements could include 3D modelling, live action film, as well as typography and iconography. It was Stuart's responsibility to take the brief, coordinate asset delivery and carry through to completion.
